Our Ministry Teams
We believe there is a reason Jesus sent out the disciples in teams of two. We were meant to do ministry together. Teamwork makes the Dreamwork! We believe the Lord wants us to ask him to send volunteers to do the work of ministry. Read more about it from Luke's Gospel.
Every organized ministry or project or event is assigned to one of the Ministry Teams below.

Building and Grounds maintains, improves, and stewards building and grounds.
Communications provides tools and services for church office and communications
Congregational Care provides care through contact, visitation, and meals delivered to homes
Congregational Fellowship provides opportunities for fellowship by planning meals, socials, and showers
Children provides ministry for children from birth through 5th grade
Discipleship teaches and encourages spiritual practices
Finance provides financial oversight and fund development for ministry
Leadership Development develops leadership among staff/personnel, board, and ministry leaders
Mission Beyond the Valley promotes participation in the many ministries of Nazarene Missions International
Mission Flintstone provides opportunities to build relationships and serve the Flintstone community
Youth provides ministry to youth from 6th grade through 12th grade
Worship provides opportunities to worship God through sacraments, scripture, and music
These Ministry Teams report on their work to the congregation and look to the Church Board and Pastor for direction.
Church Board
The Church Board is a governing body of Lay People voted on by the congregation to serve a two year term. They serve and make decisions on behalf of the congregation. If you have a question or comment you are welcome to talk with or email any board member.

Our Pastor
Hunter Cummings has served as the pastor at Chattanooga Valley Church of the Nazarene since 2019.
Hunter and his wife, Courtney have three sons who love playing outside and going to the Mall of Georgia (their name for the Flintstone Dollar General).
Before moving to Flintstone, He pastored the Mosaic Church right outside of Atlanta in Lilburn. For eleven years he served as a youth pastor in Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio. While in seminary he served as the Executive Director of the East Nashville Cooperative Ministry.
Hunter has a B.A and M.A from Trevecca Nazarene University, an M.Div from Vanderbilt, and a PhD in historical theology from the University of Manchester, where he is a associate fellow at the Manchester Wesleyan Research Center. He has taught as an adjunct and visiting professor for the Salvation Army's Evangeline Booth College, Asia Pacific Theological Seminary, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and Trevecca in addition to serving as a contributor and editor for The Foundry publishing house. Wesley studies, ecclesiology, and church history are his principal subjects..
Hunter chairs the Georgia District Board of Studies and serves on the Board of Trustees for Trevecca Nazarene University. and on the Leadership Advisory Council for The Center for Human Flourishing.
Pastor Hunter's passion is for God's kingdom to come and Jesus' will to be done in Chattanooga Valley as they are in heaven.
